Opening of New Amide Plant in UK
At K 2019, Croda will celebrate half a century of experience in amide production and the opening of its 27 million GBP state-of-the-art amide manufacturing facility at its flagship site in the United Kingdom. This new amide plant doubles the site’s capacity and will ensure long-term global security of supply and consistent product quality.
New Site to Manufacture Range of Additives
The new site will manufacture a range of Croda’s most well-known and world-leading amides, including Crodamide™ slip & anti-block, Incroslip™ high stability slip and torque release, and IncroMold release and anti-scratch additives.
Showcase of Ionphase™ Permanent Anti-static Additives
- Also, it will be the first time that Croda showcases its Ionphase™ permanent anti-static additives at the K Show.
- Ionphase™ inherently dissipative polymers offer an immediate and permanent effect that is not dependent on humidity.
- They provide a uniform and homogenous distribution in the host polymer and offer excellent processability and surface quality.
- These additives are suitable for compounding, extrusion or injection molding, and allow for compliance with key industry standards for EPA and EX areas.
- There are multiple grades available to suit different polymer types including polyolefins, styrenics and PC blends.
Polymer Modification in Focus
The Smart Materials business is also home to an extensive range of high-performance bio-based building blocks to enhance the performance of engineering polymers like COPE/COPA and polyimides. Polymer modification offers excellent flexibility, durability, protective barriers against moisture, UV and chemicals.
Technical experts will be present to discuss and demonstrate the specialty effects that Croda brings to high-end polymer applications. The effects of our smart additives include for example anti-fog, anti-static, anti-scratch, slip and anti-block and torque release.
