Fibers > Biofibers
Biofibers are naturally derived polymer reinforcement. Their easy availability, low cost, stiffness and good mechanical properties have enabled them to replace inorganic fillers for reinforcements in the plastic industry (automotive, building & construction, medical ...). Biofibers have a lower processing temperature which limits their usage in polymers processed at high temperatures. Some commonly used biofibers are either based on cellulose, wood, cotton or oil palm.
