Plasticizers > Orthophthalates, Low Molecular Weight

Phthalate plasticizers are the conventional choice as they resist extraction, evaporation and migration. With most of the polymers (except PVC), phthalates do not migrate out of the product easily. Phthalates in plastics offer durability, flexibility, weather resistance and ability to withstand high temperatures. Phthalates are very commonly employed in wire and cable applications and vinyl based building materials like flooring and wall coverings.
