Phenolics

Phenolic resins are obtained by step growth polymerization process. Phenolics are cost effective resins and help to create formulations with excellent water resistance. Adding phenolic resins may make the resultant adhesive formulation brittle. To overcome this drawback, other rubbers and polymers are added to the formulation. Adhesive formulations based on phenolic resins are mainly used to bind wood surfaces.
