Organic pigments provide excellent opaque colors when added to polymers. They have limited heat stability and may carry electrostatic charges. This makes organic pigments difficult to disperse. Being resistant to breakdown and dispersion, this category pigments have a tendency to form clumps of pigment particles known as agglomerates which can show up as spots in polymer. Organic pigments are mainly used for applications needing high tinting strength and brilliant shades. This class of pigments can be categorized as Polycyclic, Azo (Mono- and Di-) and Metal complexes.
