Irganox® 259

Irganox® 259 by BASF is hexamethylene bis(3-(3,5-di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate). It is a sterically hindered phenolic antioxidant and an efficient, non-discoloring stabilizer for organic substrates such as plastics, synthetic fibers, and elastomers. Provides excellent processing, long-term thermal stability as well as excellent initial resin color. It exhibits low volatility and extraction resistance. Irganox® 259 is suitable for polyacetals, polyesters, polyolefins, polyols and polyurethanes applications. Recommended usage level is 0.05-0.5% for polyacetal homopolymers & copolymers and 0.05–1.0% for polyesters, polyolefins, polyols, polyurethanes and elastomers.
