BYK® -P 9920

BYK®-P 9920 by BYK is an additive for improving fiber wetting in fiber-reinforced composites and for defoaming flooring. It is a mixture of oligomeric substances with wetting agents. The additive improves the wetting of glass or carbon fibers which results in less air entrapment and porosity. It avoids dry spots and reduces the scrap rate. Because of the high content of non-volatile matter, it is particularly suitable for closed mold processes. The epoxy-functional groups contained in the additive enable embedding into the matrix. The recommended level is 0.5-3% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation. It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, ENCS, PICCS, IECSC, AICS, NZIoC and ECSI. It complies with EU Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU-Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging, EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2) and REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of BYK®-P 9920 is 36 months.
