Mark® 17 MOK

Mark® 17 MOK by Galata Chemicals is octyltin mercaptide. Acts as organotin heat stabilizer. Has proved satisfactory in calendaring, extrusion and injection molding of rigid PVC, for each application optimum results can only be obtained by a properly selected dosage of stabilizer and lubricants. The choice and concentration of external as well as internal lubricants is important. In rigid PVC processing the addition of external lubricants such as montan waxes and complex esters (0.2 – 0.5 phr), PE waxes and oxidized PE waxes (0.05 – 0.1 phr) give good results whereas stearic acid as external lubricant may reduce the efficiency of the stabilizer. The internal lubricants like fatty acid glycerides or Drapex® 39 epoxidized soybean oil are mainly used as they are highly compatible with PVC, they are used at concentrations of 0.5 – 1.5 phr. Used in the production of rigid PVC packaging materials to comply with food regulations. Mark® 17 MOK is particularly effective in both initial color and long-term heat stability in most types of PVC resins used in this application, e.g.emulsion, suspension, mass PVC, modified PVC or combinations with copolymers.
