Gevo™ High Purity Isobutanol

Isobutanol. Acts as an intermediate. Is fully renewable and meets all of the purity as well as performance requirements of isobutanol derived from conventional petroleum sources. Possesses slow evaporation rate. Can replace 100 percent of conventional isobutanol in all applications. Because isobutanol has similar properties to n-butanol, this renewable isobutanol may be used as a cost-effective and renewable n-butanol replacement in many n-butanol applications. Is also a cost-competitive source of renewable butenes and renewable butene derivatives. Can be dehydrated with well-known processes to produce butenes which are building blocks for the production of materials such as lubricants, synthetic rubber, PMMA, propylene, xylene and PET. Can also provide with an alternative to petroleum-based butenes with advantages in cost, predictability and life cycle profile.
