Di methyl phthalate. It acts as a plasticizer. It is colorless, light-fast, clear oily liquid, slight sweet odor, soluble in all organic solvents. It is used in manufacturing of celluloid. It has applications as and additive in polysulphide rubber to reduce shear strength and easy mixing and as solvenraphic films and sheets, blister packaging and tape applications in formulations of organic peroxide.
