Speedblock UV-6 by Lambson (Sartomer) is 2-Hydroxy-4-n-octoxybenzophenone. Acts as a UV absorber. It protects by preferentially absorbing harmful ultraviolet radiation and dissipating it as thermal energy. High concentrations are generally required along with sufficient thickness of the polymer for effective absorption to retard photo degradation. Displays low odor & volatility during high temperature processing. Speedblock UV-6 is compatible with unsaturated polyesters, polystyrenes, polymethylacrylates. Recommended dosage is 0.1-0.5% depending on the substrate, processing conditions and applications. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
