Vulkalent® G

Vulkalent® G by Rhein Chemie Additives (Lanxess Group) is a highly effective retarder used for compounds based on NR, IR, BR, SBR (including oil-extended SBR), NBR, IIR and EPDM. It extends the scorch- and flow time It can be used in conjunction with sulfur (or sulfur donors), mercapto, thiuram, dithiocarbamate and basic accelerators. In combination with sulfenamide accelerators, it enables the processing safety of unvulcanized compounds to be varied within wide limits with a view to raising productivity. It improves the storage stability of finalized compounds. It permits high mixing temperatures and is suitable for compounds that are calendared, injection molded or extruded. It is more powerful than Vulkalent® E/C. It also acts as a replasticizing agent and used to replasticize compounds that have been exposed to heat for too long. It is designed for tire compounds of all types like tire treads, camel-back, bead fillers, steel cord direct bonding compounds and sidewalls. It also finds application in the production of technical goods of all kinds such as conveyor belting, hose, profiles, sheet, footwear soling sheet, molded soles and dock fenders. Vulkalent® G has a shelf life of 2 years.
