Stearyl stearamide; secondary amide. Acts as a lubricant and internal mold release agent for engineering plastics. Shows very good thermal stability and very low volatility. Greatly improves processing behavior and end-performance by reducing friction and adhesion forces between polymer and processing equipment and polymer to polymer surfaces. Possesses very good thermal stability, which allows very high processing temperatures needed for engineering polymers like nylon. Forms a thin film on the surface of finished product, due to continuous migration.
