GUARD DOG™ UV234 by M Chemical is 2-[2-Hydroxy-3, 5-di(1,1-dimethylnezyl)phenyl]2H-benzotriazole. Acts as a UV light stabilizer. It absorbs UV radiation in the range of 300-400 nm with absorption maximas at 302 and 343 nm. Offers low initial color and low volatility during high processing temperatures. Also exhibits good extraction resistance. It is highly effective in polymers that are processed at high temperature (decomposition temperature > 350 °C). Extremely effective in PP, SBS, footwear, SEBS, acetal, acrylic, PET, PMMA, PBT and PC. GUARD DOG™ UV234 is recommended for fibers and footwear. The dosage rate ranges between 0.15 – 0.60% depending upon the substrate and performance requirements. Compliant with FDA status for food contact approval.
