Antimony trioxide. Acts as halogen synergist fire retardant and smoke suppressant for plastics and rubbers. It does not react as flame-retardants directly but used as synergist to enhance the activity of halogenated flame-retardants by stepwise releasing the halogenated radicals to retard gas phase chain reaction of flame spread. Also used as a catalyst in PET production.
