Perkadox 30 by Nouryon is 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-diphenylbutane. Acts as a initiator for polymerization of styrene and synergist in fire-retardant polystyrene formulations. It is commonly used as synergistic co-agents to reduce the amount of HBCD. Perkadox 30 possesses sufficient thermal stability at the temperatures used in suspension polymerization.
