Hydrostrand® 258 chopped strand

Hydrostrand® 258 chopped strand by Owens Corning is glass-fiber chopped strand. It is produced using Advantex® corrosion resistant glass. It improves impact resistance in impact modified grades, fatigue resistance and is resistant to hydrolysis. It offers a low yellowness making it easy to use in natural color applications. Provides enhanced performance retention in applications exposed to glycol, excellent dry-as-molded properties and enables strong processing with no hassle feeding. It shows strong thermal stability and less discoloration at higher temperatures. It allows reduction in manufacturing change-overs and lowers inventory cost. It enables designers to reduce vehicle weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing performance. Hydrostrand® 258 chopped strand is compatible with PA6 and PA66. It is designed for use in applications in contact with fluids, as a substitute of metal. Its typical applications in automotive include oil and fluid pump housings, oil pans and powertrain parts.
