Distearate with very high gelling properties, allowing viscosity control without clouding. Highly soluble in many organic nonpolar fluids and form gels in these materials. Acts as water repellents. Aluminum is a trivalent metal, so it can be combined with fatty acids salts in order to form a wide variety of aluminum stearates with different physical properties.
