2-(3',5'-di-t-amyl-2'-hydroxyphenyl) benzotriazole. Acts as a ultraviolet light absorber. It belongs to the family of substituted benzotriazoles, which protect against ultraviolet radiation. Compared to other UV absorbers, HXA UV-328 is more solvent soluble, has better resin compatibility and washfastness, is less volatile, and provides a degree of stabilization that is generally equal to or better than other members of the family. Has high solubility and faint odor. The light stability of polymer can be further enhanced by use of a phenolic antioxidant and a hindered amine light stabilizer in the combination with HXA UV-328. Used in polyolefins, styrenics, thermoplasic urethane and related polyurethane, two-component epoxy. It is recommended to be used for protection at 0.1% - 0.5%.
