TOROWHITE FIL 04

TOROWHITE FIL 04 by TOROWHITE (Toro Gips) is a calcium sulfate anhydrite (AII) produced from natural calcium sulfate selected especially for the use as filler in polymer and biopolymer production. This 100% natural product is odorless, biodegradable and is produced from food & pharma grade natural gypsum in compliance with the E-516 standard of the European Union. It is an ideal filler for food packaging as it is resistant to weak acids and prevents migration. TOROWHITE FIL 04 offers cost reduction possibilities for the polymer and biopolymer matrix, being optimized for the production, improvement and adjustability of properties of PLA, PCL and PBAT as well as other biopolymers. This additive possesses good whiteness, good impact properties and improved UV resistance. It also displays high thermal stability and good tensile & flexural strength. It prevents migration acting and does not conduct electricity. Due to its low Mohs hardness compared to other minerals, it is easy to process leading to lower wear and abrasion of machinery. Its narrow particle size enables high performance in terms of color, opacity, processability and mechanical impact resistance. The narrow particle size distribution enables high performance in terms of thermal and mechanical characteristics, dimensional stability, optical properties and processability. As an example: in PLA, optimum results with improved functionalities are obtained at 20-40%. Whereas, in highly filled PLA composites (40%) the co-addition of up to 10% impact modifier can significantly improve impact properties, leading to 2-3 times increase in impact strength. It can also improve the flame-retardant properties of polylactide (PLA) based polymers utilized in conjunction with other additives. It is totally free of any nanomaterial or nanoparticles, residual solvents and heavy metals deriving from any step of the production processes. TOROWHITE FIL 04 is recommended for food packaging, engineering appliances, biomedical, paper, special additives, materials and rigid PVC.
