Lauryl Methacrylate 1214 (LMA 1214)

Lauryl methacrylate. It is a mixture of C12, C14, C16 methacrylates. It is a monofunctional methacrylate monomer with a long chain hydrophobic pendant group. It offers adhesion, weatherability, low shrinkage, flexibility, water resistance, improved impact strength and hydrophobicity. It forms homopolymers and copolymers. Its copolymers can be prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides and esters, and with methacrylates, acrylonitrile etc. It is also a very useful feedstock for chemical synthesis, because it readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds.
