How You Will Benefit:

The solution presented is often forgotten when looking for potential options, so we want to share it with you because you can:

  • Achieve your performance targets (or even improve!) while preserving your plastic mechanical performance
  • Achieve greater results on your building part tests
  • Reduce your system costs in many cases

After checking the validity of this strategy based on the use of intumescent materials at the plastic surface, you will get a step-by-step action plan to start your own project with IFRs.

Heinrich Horacek is a flame retardant specialist from Austria.

He worked 17 years at BASF in Germany. Then he worked at Chemie Linz until his retirement. He published 25 papers and owns 57 patents.

He spent most of his working life on the fire protection of plastics. He worked on the following topics:

    • passive fire protection for joints and building parts
    • monomers for high temperature polymers and flame retardants
    • extrusion of foams, glass reinforced plastics and aluminium- polyolefine- composites
