Titanium dioxide can be used with various engineering polymers such as ABS, Polyamide, Polycarbonate, etc. in applications such as Appliances and Electronics.
ABS and ABS Blends benefit from Ti-Pure™ TiO2
Ti-Pure™ R-350 is designed to provide optimum bright blue optics, thermal and UV stability, and impact strength retention which ABS and ABS blend polymers value most. Ti-Pure™ R-105 and R-960 have been valued for the applications requiring maximum thermal stability during polymer melt processing and long-term weather resistance during use. Interactions between conventional titanium dioxide pigments and ABS polymer phases commonly lead to a loss of mechanical performance and poor heat & UV stability. By reducing these negative interactions,
Ti-Pure™ R-350's innovative coating technology allows compounders to achieve excellent thermal stability in high-temperature processing conditions, better impact strength and enhanced UV stability compared to conventional titanium dioxide grades. For Polycarbonate blended with ABS,
Ti-Pure™ R-103 is recommended. When durability is required
Ti-Pure™ R-105 is suggested.
Polyamide (nylon) and PA Blends
For Polyamide products, selection of TiO
2 depends on the compound formula, desired end use color, and processing methods. Ti-Pure™ R-103, R-104 or R-105 titanium dioxide grades can be considered. Thermal stability, melt-rheology stability, chemical reactivity, and polymer mechanical property influence are the most crucial attributes of a TiO
2 pigment for these very high processing and end use temperature polymers. Please consult your local Ti-Pure™ sales representative for additional application information.
