Pascal Xanthopoulos started his career at Ciba Specialty Chemicals in 1988 where he was responsible for the management of the global innovation project portfolio and technology platform of new effect additives for plastics, rubbers, fibers and adhesives.
As a global innovation director located in Singapore and New-York, he contributed to establish new R&D centers and production units for new fine chemicals in Taiwan, Singapore, USA, and Germany.
Pascal Xanthopoulos is also named on several patents for the invention of environmentally, advanced formulations in plastics applications contributing to the reduction of volatile emissions in car applications (See Patents Below).
In 2010, he funded PolyBridge® (www.polybridge.com), a French research organization that specializes in elaborating R&D projects for the development of bio-based molecules and building-blocks derived from various biomasses. Within this green chemistry initiative, Pascal Xanthopoulos supports programs of circular economy and industrial ecology all along the value chain by interacting with European innovation clusters involved in plant based chemistry, paper pulp manufacturers, wood converters, chemical companies and research technical organizations across Europe and North America.
Pascal Xanthopoulos is a part-time lecturer on green chemistry at the School of Wood Science and Timber Engineering ENSTIB, the only national and university engineering school specialized in wood in France.
PolyBridge® is also a scientific partner of several French economic development bodies to support the search for investors in France and abroad and provide customized orientation in the locating of new businesses.
