Patent-infringementMilliken & Company has recently filed a complaint in China against GCH Technology Co., Ltd., a specialty chemicals company headquartered in Guangzhou.

Seeks to Stop Certain Clarifying Agents Sale

The complaint seeks to stop GCH from making and selling certain clarifying agents and non-dusting blends that infringe Milliken’s Chinese patents. The clarifying agents from Milliken provide crystal clear glass like clarity in PP parts.

The complaint was filed by Milliken with the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property (IP) Office, which has docketed it for action and conducted preliminary inspections of GCH’s facilities to gather evidence for its investigation. Milliken is considering and will take further appropriate actions to seek all possible remedies under Chinese law.

We have broad intellectual property coverage for clarifying agents, nucleating agents and the co-additives that enhance them. Our company is committed to vigorously defending our IP and innovations that ultimately will bring benefit to our customers in China and around the world,” said Allen Jacoby, vice president, plastic additives.
