CNS-Range

Cabot Corporation has expanded its current portfolio of advanced carbons to include the new ATHLOS™ carbon nanostructures (CNS), a family of unique materials, consisting of a network of crosslinked carbon nanotubes manufactured using a proprietary process.

Innovative Carbons Solution

ATHLOS™ CNS are Cabot’s latest innovative advanced carbons solution to help customers better respond to the premium performance demands of next generation plastic applications by enabling an optimal balance of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, conductivity, mechanical strength and processability.

New developments in market segments such as automotive, aerospace, defense, telecommunications and electronics are driving requirements for EMI shielding in a range of frequencies and forms.

Advantages of ATHLOS™ CNS

ATHLOS CNS deliver unmatched EMI shielding performance relative to other carbon additives. The addition of ATHLOS CNS to EMI shielding solutions enables significant light-weighting and miniaturization advantages by replacing or reducing the loading of traditional metal-based alternatives. Additionally, using ATHLOS CNS can improve industrial hygiene compared to other conductive carbon additives by reducing dust contamination during processing.

“In addition to enabling unique performance properties and addressing key functionality demands, ATHLOS CNS also enable easier processing at a lower cost in use versus alternative competitive materials for high performance plastic applications.” explained Will Krents, New Business Development Director.

Cabot’s advanced carbon solutions and the new ATHLOS™ CNS will be showcased at Booth E62 Hall 6 during K 2019.
