Kraton will launch the SYLVATRAXX™ 8000 Tread Enhancement Additive (TEA) series at the International Elastomer Conference (IEC) on October 8-10 in Cleveland, Ohio. Kraton’s booth #321 will feature this second-generation polyterpene TEA with high biobased content.
Eco-friendly Innovations
The products are designed to optimize the balance between wet traction and rolling resistance in silica-filled passenger car tire treads, especially in high-performance all-season tires.
“As a key supplier to the tire industry, Kraton delivers exceptional value through environmentally-friendly innovations that address customer challenges,” said Nicolas Derville, Tires Business Director at Kraton.
“This new technology is an alternative solution to limonene-based products, meeting demands for both economic sustainability and safe, eco-mobility performance.”
Technical Sessions
Wolfgang Pille-Wolf, Principal Scientist at Kraton, will give a technical presentation titled “
Viscoelastic Modifiers from a Renewable Resource.” Hosted on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 1pm in Technical Session A, the presentation will cover SYLVATRAXX™ 8115 and 8125 TEA products’ evaluation in typical passenger car tread compounds, including data from laboratory compounding studies and correlated with product’s key characteristics.
IEC is hosted by the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS), where Kraton is a corporate member. Hosted every October, the conference is a forum for customers, manufacturers and suppliers of materials, equipment and services to exchange ideas, address regulatory reforms and discuss emerging scientific technologies.
