DEHP is the most widely used phthalate plasticizer. It is also known as di octyl phthalate (DOP). It offers good gelling, satisfactory electrical properties and helps to produce highly elastic compounds with reasonable cold strength. As it displays good flexibility at low temperatures and exceptional resistance to high-temperature, it is employed in manufacturing medical devices. DEHP as a PVC plasticizer helps to develop various formulations that range from glassy compositions to soft and highly flexible materials.
