SP-1056 Resin

SP-1056 Resin (Old Name: Akrochem® P-125) by Akrochem is a heat-reactive, brominated octylphenol-formaldehyde resin-based tackifier that contains methylol groups. It offers an adequate scorch safety margin in a wide processing range and does not require a halogen donor. It exhibits good processing properties, faint halogen odor and shows a slower cure than SP-1056 due to lower bromine content. SP-1056 Resin, in rubber compounds, possesses exceptional scorch safety, high-temperature stability and excellent dynamic properties. It is used with butyl rubber and other unsaturated elastomers with or without functionality. Recommended dosage level of self-activating resin for butyl rubber is 12 phr, for maximum ozone resistance is 15 phr, with chloro-butyl is 5 phr, with unsaturated polymer is 5-15 phr, for EPDM is 15 phr and to maximize state-of-cure, add 5 phr ZnO and Hypalon as additional activators.
