Akrowax™ PE-LM

Akrowax™ PE-LM by Akrochem is a low molecular weight polyethylene wax used as a processing aid in natural and synthetic rubbers. It offers release from hot metal surfaces and improves flow for injection and transferring molding (internal mixers, hot calendar rolls, extruder dies and molds). It exhibits excellent compatibility and enhances filler dispersion when added early in the mix. It provides a glossier finish to cured parts and lowers softening points than Akrochem’s standard PE wax. Recommended dosage of Akrowax™ PE-LM in elastomers is 2-6 phr and 5 phr can be added to compounds with little effect on vulcanized properties. High loadings (up to 20 phr) can be used in EPDM to achieve high durometer non-black stock.
