SP-6701 Resin

SP-6701 Resin (Old Name: Akrochem® P-49) by Akrochem is a tall oil-modified phenolic novolak-based tackifier. It is suitable primarily in SBR stocks where high processing temperatures are required. It improves SBR compatibility and dispersibility when combines with mineral oil. It is the base resin for SP-6601 and does not contain hexa. SP-6701 Resin exhibits strong plasticizing action during processing without fear of scorching. The hexa used should be the finely pulverized rubber accelerator grade and can be added late in the mixing cycle or on the warm-up mill to make the resin properly thermosetting on a cure.
