Luperox® 531M60 by Arkema is a 1,1-Di(t-amylperoxy)-cyclohexane. Acts as a polymerization initiator. It is a cyclic perketal with a decomposition pattern resulting in the formation of extended polymer chains. Offers narrower molecular weight distribution, good flexibility, low viscosity, high molecular weight, reduced polydispersity, and reduced residual monomer & oligomer level. Compatible with styrenics, acrylics, or PMMA and its copolymers. It can be used for the solution polymerization for the production of high solid acrylic coatings. Luperox® 531M60 works in the temperature range of 120°C to 130°C for the polymerization of poly(meth)acrylates and copolymers, 90°C to 130°C for styrenics and around 125°C for acrylics. Typical usage level range between 0.015% and 0.085%.
