Solulub 912

Technical DataSheet | Supplied by Axiall (Westlake Chemical)

A solid, complex ester lubricant. It is a balanced lubricant that lowers the viscosity of the PVC compounds during manufacturing. Imparts good initial color to PVC compounds. Has a relatively high melting range, but in the flaked form it has a softening range between 75 and 85 °C, possesses full dispersion during the dry blending operations. The accelerated weathering properties of Solulub 912 are comparable to those of the most common lubricant combinations used in similar applications. Used in solid extrusion applications with medium loadings of filler, up to 10 phr. Solulub 912 can be used in a typical profile formulation at 2.5 and 3.5 phr. In compound with higher levels of filler without additional lubrication, the use level can be up tp 6.0 phr, because of its inherent solubility in PVC. The addition of metal release agents at 0.1 to 0.15 phr has been reported for complex extrusions with reduced filler levels.
