Irgafos® 126 by BASF is bis-(2,4-di-tert.-butylphenol)pentaerythritol diphosphite. It is a high performance organo-phosphite processing stabilizer. Protects polymers from molecular weight changes and from thermo-oxidative degradation during processing by decomposing hydroperoxides to form non-radical, non-reactive products during the processing steps (compounding, pelletizing and recycling). Prevents polymer discoloration and provides high performance at low concentration levels. It shows synergistic performance when used in combination with primary antioxidants from the Irganox range and can be used in combination with light stabilizers from the Tinuvin and Chimasorb range. Irgafos® 126 is compatible with polyethylene, polypropylene, other polymers such as engineering plastics, styrene homo- and copolymers, polyurethanes, elastomers and ethylene-vinylacetate copolymers. Its recommended dosage rate is between 0.05-0.15%.
