Irganox® EL 1291

Irganox® EL 1291 by BASF is a synergistic blend of liquid antioxidants for processing and long-term thermal stabilization of organic substrates such as raw elastomers, vulcanizates and plastics. It is non-staining, non-discoloring, low in volatility, resistant to extraction, and stable to heat. Protects the substrates against thermo-oxidative degradation during processing and long-term heat aging. Irganox® EL 1291 is compatible with thermoplastic elastomers including BR, SBR (including carbon black masterbatches), NBR, CR, IR, SBS, SIS and natural rubber. Used as an effective antioxidant and antifatigue agent for rubber vulcanizates based on diene rubbers, especially CR. It can be used with other additives such as primary and/ or secondary antioxidants, benzofuranones, light stabilizers and other functional stabilizers. Its normal usage level in raw elastomers ranges between 0.05% and 1.0%. In rubber vulcanizates it is used typically at 1-3 phr level.
