BYK® -A 560

BYK®-A 560 by BYK is a silicone-free, polymer-based, air release additive for solvent-free unsaturated polyester systems, gel coats and cast resins. It is recommended for all-glass fiber-reinforced applications as well as for pultrusion applications with acrylic, unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. It combines excellent deaerating performance with extremely good fiber wetting properties. It is frequently used for glass fiber wetting in RTM and resin injection processes. The recommended level for ambient curing systems is 0.2-0.5% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation. It prevents air entrapment during the manufacture and application (pultrusion) of plastic systems. The recommended level for pultrusion is 0.3 phr additive (as supplied) in combination with 0.2 phr BYK®-A 555 for air release & 0.5 phr additive (as supplied) for fiber wetting. The shelf life of BYK®-A 560 is 36 months.
