BYK-MAX FR 4143

BYK-MAX FR 4143 by BYK is a compacted, easy to handle, halogen- & antimony-free, flame retardant for polyolefins in compounding, extrusion or injection molding processes. This highly effective additive is a mixture of flame-retardant additives. The easy-to-dose granulate has a very good price-performance ratio as a result of the high additive content and, in the event of fire, it forms an insulating intumescent layer that prevents oxygen reaching the substrate. The highest flame retardant standards can be achieved with all types of polyolefins, for example V-0 according to UL94 and B1 according to DIN 4102. It enhances mechanical resistance and product density. The recommended level is 15-25% additive (as supplied) based upon the total formulation. This additive can be added via volumetric or gravimetric dosing units during processing in extruders and injection molding machines. BYK-MAX FR 4143 is recommended for all types of polyolefin-based plastics and flame-retardant compounds. The shelf life of this product is 12 months.
