BYK-MAX HS 4344

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by BYK
BYK-MAX HS 4344 by BYK is a dust-free, easy to handle, granulated long-term thermal stabilizer based on organic stabilizers, carbon black and coupling agents for use in PP-GF. It consists of a combination of thermal stabilizers, carbon black and a SCONA coupling agent. The stabilizers inhibit thermo-oxidative decomposition by intercepting radicals and decomposing reactive peroxides. The SCONA coupling agent contained in the product ensures a strong and stable interaction of the glass fibers and the polymer matrix by increasing the reactivity between the polypropylene and the glass fibers. BYK-MAX HS 4344 also has a very positive influence on long-term heat aging (LTHA), which makes it possible to comply with the automotive standard specifications more easily. Depending on the glass fiber content, adding approx. 2.2% of the additive can achieve a long-term heat aging duration of 1000 hours at 120°C. It consists of a non-adhesive granulate. The typical addition level is 2.2% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation for 20-30% glass fiber content. It is added via volumetric or gravimetric dosing units during processing in all extruders and injection molding machines. Recommended for long fiber-reinforced pellets for automotive parts used in the vehicle interior, structural components and door modules. The shelf life of this product is 12 months.
