Hostastat® FE 1 by Clariant is a fatty acid ester which provides antistatic properties to thermoplastic polymers. In combination with Hostastat® FA 14 it shows a well-balanced performance in terms of time to get the antistatic effect and durability of the effect. It is compatible with polyolefins, especially polypropylene. It is added to equalize and reduce static charges on polymers surfaces preventing undesired or hazardous effects caused by dust attraction, spark discharge, ink misting. During processing of filled or reinforced PP, Hostastat® FE 1 acts as a flow promoter. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
