Atmer™ 7103

Atmer™ 7103 by Cargill is 50% concentrate in polypropylene of vegetable/synthetic origin. Acts as an anti-static agent. It is a combination of anti-static additives dispersed in an adsorbent polymer. Using a concentrate allows for better dispersion and overcomes complications encountered when using additives in their normal physical forms. Concentrates are added to the process like other resins, allowing for the additives to migrate to the surface of the polymer where they interact with atmospheric moisture, reducing surface resistivity and allowing dissipation of static charge. It allows for better distribution of additives in base polymer, reduction of fuming/ smoking in processing. It should be added to the melt phase during processing. Experience has shown that simple manual mixing prior to processing will normally give an acceptable dispersion though, mechanical means are preferred. Atmer™ 7103 has a shelf life of 730 days. Typical addition levels is 0.6-1% in injection molding and sheet extrusion.
