TYZOR® NBZ

Tetra n-butyl zirconate. It is a highly reactive organic alkoxy zirconate with approximately 87% active content in n-butanol. Acts as a lewis acid catalyst in applications such as ziegler-natta olefin polymerization, polyurethane formation, polycondensation and some esterification and transesterification reactions, among others. It can be used to enhance adhesion promotion and cross-link polymers. Its typical reaction products include (meth)acrylic esters, polyester, plasticizers, various esters and polyurethanes. Its benefits include elimination of by-products, increased yield, easy work-up, low toxicity and low catalyst concentration. Used in the synthesis of polyolefins such as polyethylene and polypropylene. It also can be used in pyrolytic or hydrolytic processes to create polymeric ZrO2 surface films.
