MoldX® A400

MoldX® A400 by Huber Engineered Materials is an alumina trihydrate grade (99.6% content). Acts as a flame retardant. Improves fire retardant and smoke suppressant performance. Imparts processable viscosities in fiberglass reinforced sheet molding compounds (SMC) at very high loadings as compared to typical ATH products. Chemically stable under normal conditions. Allows compounders to overcome equipment processing limitations via the development of low viscosity formulations that pass the most stringent flame retardant tests. The increased flame retardant efficacy allows for the elimination of halogenated resins and other additives. Provides low cost flame retardancy and smoke suppression in thermoset processes such as epoxy potting, wet‐mat, spray‐up, hand lay‐up, and bulk molding compounds (BMC) that contain reinforcing fibers (patent pending). Complies with Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Inventory, Canada Domestic Substance List, Canada Non-Domestic Substance List and National Inventory of Chemical Substances (INSQ). MoldX® A400 by Huber Engineered Materials incompatible with strong acids.
