MoldX® S45

MoldX® S45 by Huber Engineered Materials is a water-insoluble alumina trihydrate grade (99.6% content). Acts as a flame retardant (non-halogen). Available as odorless white powder (chemically stable under normal conditions). Allows higher loadings versus standard ATH products and offers excellent processing. It’s increased loading capability from 180 phr to as high as 240 phr in an SMC formulation, eliminates the need for halogen fire retardant additives. Designed for fiberglass reinforced polyester applications such as sheet molding compounds (SMC), bulk molding compounds (BMC) and laminating. SMC compositions containing MoldX® S45 by Huber Engineered Materials as the sole flame retardant can be formulated to meet UL94 VO and UL94 5VA at thicknesses of less than 0.100 inch. Complies with Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Inventory, Canada Domestic Substance List, Canada Non-Domestic Substance List and Mexico National Inventory of Chemical Substances (INSQ).
