KRATON™ G1654

KRATON™ G1654 by Kraton is a thickening agent and viscosity modifier. It is styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS) linear polymer with a tri-block structure. It shows excellent compatibility with variety of oils and can be directly dissolved in heated oil. It solidifies mineral oils to provide strength, enhanced flexibility and cushioning properties. It offers elasticity and creates an excellent moisture barrier. It performs very well at low temperatures and possesses excellent oil retention. It imparts high level of formulation versatility, high clarity, enhanced product stability and broad range of rheological profiles. It contains styrene and rubber in ratio of 31:69. KRATON™ G1654 finds application in cable-filling compounds, injection-molded, or extruded “foamed “oil gels. It is also suitable for making thermoset UV cured foams, which are more resistant to higher temperature. It can also be used to create low-density foams like thermoplastic and thermoset when blended with oils and thermoplastic expandable microspheres.
