KRATON™ G1657

KRATON™ G1657 by Kraton is a thickening agent and viscosity modifier. It is styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS) linear polymer with a tri-block structure. It imparts elasticity and creates an excellent moisture barrier. It solidifies mineral oils to provide strength, enhanced flexibility and cushioning properties. It performs very well at low temperatures and possesses excellent oil retention. It offers high level of formulation versatility, high clarity, enhanced product stability and broad range of rheological profiles. It shows excellent compatibility with variety of oils and can be directly dissolved in heated oil. KRATON™ G1657 finds application in cable-filling compounds, injection-molded, or extruded “foamed “oil gels. It is also suitable for making thermoset UV cured foams, which are more resistant to higher temperature. It can also be used to create low-density foams like thermoplastic and thermoset when blended with oils and thermoplastic expandable microspheres. It contains styrene and rubber in ratio of 13:87.
