BLS®1944 by Mayzo 1,6-Hexanediamine, N1,N6-bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)-, polymer with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine, reaction products with 2,4,4-trimethyl-2-pentanamine. Acts as a hindered amine light stabilizer. It is free-flowing, low dust, exhibits excellent resistance to extraction, excellent long-term light stability in thick sections, specifically polyethylene applications, long-term light stability, particularly in thin articles like fibers and films, low volatility, ease of compatibility with other stabilizers and is FDA clear for use. Because of its polymeric structure, BLS® 1944 by Mayzo has a very low volatility (even at high temperatures), low extractability and low migration rate from polymeric substrates. Compatible with polyolefins (polypropylene, polyethylene), olefin copolymers such as EVA as well as blends of polypropylene with elastomers. Also polyacetals, polyamides, polyurethanes, flexible and rigid PVC, as well as PVC blends. Recommended dosage in HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE and PP is 0.05-0.6% depending on substrate, processing conditions, and long-term stability requirements, in films like LLDPE and LDPE from 0.1-1%, and in tapes like PP and HDPE, between 0.2-0.8%. It has a shelf life of two years.
