Iriotec® 8208

Iriotec® 8208 by Merck KGaA Darmstadt Germany is a laser sensitive granulate. It enables a dark marking independent of the polymer. It is the best in class for contrast and marking speed, with the broadest process window. Antimony trioxide (65-75%) is embedded in an impervious polymer matrix (polyethylene, carrier; 25-35%), which is encapsulated in microspheres. It can be pre-compounded, used as dry blend or fed by gravimetric or volumetric dosing. Recommended dosage for Iriotec® 8208 is 1-3% while recommended processing temperature is above 160°C.
