Iriotec® 8825

Iriotec® 8825 by Merck KGaA Darmstadt Germany is a laser additive. For polymers which already show a slight reaction with the laser, this laser pigment will enhance the effect and make laser marking an economic and reliable marking process. It is composed of Mica (46-62%), (Sn/Sb)O2 (38-54%). It is compatible with polyolefins (PE, PP) and aromatic polymers (PC, ABS, SAN, PBT) for dark markings, in aliphatic polymers (PMMA, POM, PA) for bright markings. Recommended dosage of Iriotec® 8825 in transparent applications should be 0.1% (minimum). In strongly hiding formulations, 0.5% is suggested for optimum performance. It is stable in all polymers under normal processing conditions.
