Iriotec® 8850

Iriotec® 8850 by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is a light to medium grey laser pigment powder suitable for laser marking and laser direct structuring in nearly all polymers. It is composed of rutile titanium dioxide (45-65%) and tin-antimony oxide (35-55%). With its intrinsic marking properties, it will create a dark marking even in difficult polymers like silicones or fluorpolymers as well as in thin applications like polyolefin films. It is recommended for technical aliphatic polymers such as PA and POM.
  • Iriotec® 8850 is stable in all polymers under normal processing conditions.
  • It offers high marking speed and high contrast.
  • It is the fastest pigment powder for dark laser marking in nearly all polymers and colors, additional applications are laser direct structuring and laser welding for light colored formulations.
  • Iriotec® 8850 is recommended for automotive industry, wire and cable, silicones and thin materials like film & fiber.
  • Unlike Iriotec® 8825 it has a higher opacity and is therefore not suitable for transparent applications.
  • Recommended dosage level for silicone rubbers is 0.5%, for thermoplastic polymers is 0.1-0.5% (general) and 0.3% (standard).
