Niax™ catalyst C-131NPF

Niax™ catalyst C-131NPF by Momentive is a medium viscosity, low-odor, water-soluble, tertiary amine. Foams made with Niax catalyst C-131 exhibit significantly lower odor levels than those made with highly odorous conventional ester foam catalysts, such as N-ethyl morpholine, N-methylmorpholine or dimethylbenzylamine. The emission of amine vapors in foam is reduced substantially when replacing N-ethylmorpholine (NEM) with Niax™ catalyst C-131. Exhibits the lowest possible odor in a high-performance tertiary amine ester catalyst. Has activity similar to that of N-ethylmorpholine or other similar ester catalysts. Typically, 2.0 to 2.4 parts of Niax catalyst C-131 will replace about 2.0 parts of NEM. Provides excellent processing characteristics, producing a smooth consistent rise profile. Additionally, Niax™ catalyst C-131NPF by Momentive may help compatibilize some of the difficult-to-handle additives used in ester foam processing.
